  • June 30, 2010; Virginia, USA {Eclipse...Again}<br /> AND this is me back in line at AMC Tysons just 24 hours later, waiting to get into another showing of Eclipse at 7:00pm with Kelsey, Walo & Kyle. They hadn't seen it yet. It was a good movie, what can I say?

  • June 29, 2010; Virginia, USA {Eclipse}<br /> Katie surprised me with tickets to the premier showing of Eclipse! The two of us joined the hundreds of teenyboppers at AMC Tysons in order to be among the first viewers of the Stephenie Meyer/David Slade masterpiece. I love this photo, especially because Katie hasn't read any of the books or seen either of the prequels. She is a true friend!

  • June 28, 2010; Washington, D.C., USA {Monday Monday}<br /> I wish Mondays wouldn't get such a bad rap because every once and a while, they redeem themselves. Today, the Fed-Ex man delivered a highly anticipated envelope with my approved work visa for Hong Kong! And then I spent the evening enjoying D.C. with Holly and Alex. It was a good day!

  • June 27, 2010; Virginia, USA {Summer Nights}<br /> I was sitting out on the deck soaking up a Virginia summer night and watching the fireflies light up the yard when I decided I had to photograph them. It was an interesting experiment and must have bee quite a sight, as I ran around the woods shooting into the pitch black. All I needed was one good shot. So amidst a million black frames, this one is the winner.

  • June 26, 2010; Washington, D.C., USA {Night in Georgetown}<br /> My count down is in single digits! With July 2nd quickly approaching, my parents treated me to a special dinner at Sequoia in Georgetown, which is settled on the Potomac waterfront. We watched the sunset over the river during dinner and then ventured up to Dean & Deluca to get my favorite chai. There are few places that carry this particular mix, and I know where they are all at. Crossing my fingers that Hong Kong will be one of them!

  • June 25, 2010; Virginia, USA {Pasalubong}<br /> My cousin, Alicia, stopped by today to say good-bye and brought me this very special gift from her and her husband, Jose. Jose is Filipino, so Alicia was teaching me some Tagalog for my trip. In general, pasalubong is a souvenir brought for loved ones or friends. Alicia explained that this candleholder is made out of Capiz Shell from the Philippines. It is beautiful, thank you both! <br /> <br /> Alicia purchased the candleholder from one of my favorite stores called Ten Thousand Villages.   • June 24, 2010; Washington, D.C., USA {The Best of D.C.}<br /> I have decided that I love D.C. It's ironic because when I graduated college, I told myself it was the one place I wouldn't live. Especially since I grew up in Northern Virginia. But here I am. And I can officially say, it has won me over. I have a bucket list for D.C. that I have steadily crossed off and tonight, I got another. A few years ago I was online and discovered this vegan bakery called Sticky Fingers that I put on the list. Now that I am moving, I was determined to go. So Kyle and I headed downtown to taste test. We got stuffed green peppers for dinner and then split the signature sticky cinnamon bun and peanut butter fudge cupcake. I give everything two thumbs up! Afterwards, we went down to the Lincoln steps, my favorite POV in D.C., for one last look before I go far far away. <br /> <br /> www.stickyfingersbakery.com

I asked the Sale's Woman about it and she told me their buyer found it there and brought it back. What a hidden treasure! One of my dreams is to be the Photographer for Anthropologie. So, ladies and gentlemen, here is the first one!

Since my brothers and I were just in Yellowstone, we shared about how the Buffalo were right next to our tent and how they liked to walk in the middle of the road, which caused a lot of traffic. We had some good laughs. Is there a rule against talking about your food while you are eating it?

When I told her I was moving there, she was ecstatic, and insisted I come in before I leave. So I went in today for a cut and brought my list of questions. Good thing, because I am starting to pack. She gave me some necessary hair advice for the hot weather, along with the best places to shop and eat. Looks like I won't need my straightening iron after all...bring on the humidity. Thank goodness for hairdressers!

They see you at your worst and stand by you until it's over. They cheer you on towards your biggest dreams and celebrate with you over your greatest achievements. They know what's best for you, even when you can't see it. They sacrifice their time and energy if you ask them to. They speak softly but with direction. They love gentle but it's long-lasting. They give, even if they don't have. They laugh, even if it's not funny. They show up, even if it means sitting in traffic. And they cry, just because you are. I have found that very true friend. She just happens to be my mom.
